2012
Mobvoi Founded
Dr. Zhifei Li and a team of ex-Google engineers founded Mobvoi in Beijing, focused on AI voice recognition technology for the Chinese market.
2015
Google Invests
Google made its first direct China investment by taking a minority stake in Mobvoi, bringing total funding to $75M — a landmark validation of Mobvoi's AI capabilities.
2016
TicWatch Launches Globally
Mobvoi launched TicWatch, its AI-powered smartwatch series, bringing voice-first AI interaction to consumers worldwide and establishing a global hardware presence.
2020
Universal LLM "UCLAI" Developed
Mobvoi developed its universal large language model UCLAI — one of the first in Asia — laying the AI foundation that would power the TicNote platform.
2023
Hong Kong IPO Filing & "Sequence Monkey" LLM
Mobvoi filed for IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and upgraded its LLM to "Sequence Monkey." Total investment reached $2.55B from Google, Sequoia Capital, and Volkswagen Group.
2025
